The human body produce hormones that tell organs and body systems to function in optimal ways. Generally, humans are healthier during youth and early adult years, and this is the time when the human body produces “adult” levels of various hormones. However, starting in our 30's our hormone levels begin to drop off. Often during our 40's, 50's and 60's we experience declines that are commonly associated with “aging.”
Bio-Identical hormone replacement therapy seeks to replace declining hormones to early adulthood levels. Bio-identical hormones are created with the same chemical structure as the hormones produced by the human body.
My Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Program starts with an in-depth medical history, physical exam, and laboratory analysis. The laboratory analysis will measure blood chemistry, organ function, cholesterol, lipids, tumor markers, and levels of all major hormones. In addition the analysis will screen for metabolic syndrome, diabetes, heart status, and kidney disease. The analysis and the patient’s symptoms will determine whether the patient is a candidate for bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.
After this comprehensive overview, all aspects of diet, antioxidant - neutraceutical supplementation, stress reduction, exercise, and bio-identical hormone replacement pertaining to the patient’s individualized program will be explained in detail.
In short, the patient will be tested, supplemented, and balanced for optimal benefit. To ensure best results, follow-up examinations, including lab tests and a review of the patient’s symptoms, should take place every three months during the first year. After the first year, the patient’s response to the therapy will determine the length of time between follow-up visits.
